The Virtues and Rulings of Ṣalāt at-Tasbīḥ (Ṣalāt at-Tasbīḥ ke Faḍāʾil aur Masāʾil) is a unique work detailing an optional prayer prescribed by the Prophet Sallahu Alahyi wa Sallam to his Companions. This short treatise includes hadiths related to the virtues of this prayer, along with the various methods and rulings regarding it. The author supplements the work with a section for advanced students, discussing the authenticity of the hadiths prescribing this prayer.
About the author
Shaykh Mufti ʿAbd al-Raʾūf Sakkharwī was born in 1951 in Sukkur, a city in the Sindh province of Pakistan. He received his early Islamic education in his hometown and then completed his final year of the ʿālimiyyah course, as well as his masterslevel studies, at Dār al-ʿUlūm Karachi under Shaykh Muftī Muḥammad Shafīʿ and others.
Shaykh Mufti ʿAbd al-Raʾūf Sakkharwī is currently a senior Mufti at the Dār al-Iftāʾ in Dār al-ʿUlūm Karachi, where he has taught portions of Saḥīḥ Muslim for several years. He is also the author of many beneficial Urdu-language works, some of which have been translated into English, such as: Virtuous Deeds & Consigning their Reward to Others, How Muslim Women Offer Prayers, and Customary Collective Recital of Qur’an from a Shari’ah Perspective.
