He came into power after Sayf-Ud-Din Qutuz- another brilliant strategist who stopped the Mongol invasion in its tracks.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eRukn-ud-Din Baybars emulated Salah-ud-Din and battled the Crusaders and Mongols time and again. He dealt the final blow to the Crusaders, and they were never able to recover from it. He built a Masjid in Cairo, which stands to this day.
